Avery Sutton has grown up in the area in the Hunter/Jumper world for the last 12 years. She has spent the majority of her time competing with her own horse “Cas Canto”, going to state, regional, and national level finals. Winning multiple year-end awards and placing 11th in the M&S Sore No More Medal in 2016. Avery quickly fell in love with the industry and worked her way up from academy lesson student, to groom, assistant barn manager, manager, and professional rider & trainer. She has taken regular lessons and clinics with some of the best in the country including Kevin Babbington, Don Stewart, Patti Harnois, Mike Rosser, and many others, which has helped her develop a solid foundation in flat work and home in on her natural feel to the fences. She is currently heading into her senior year of college at UVM majoring in Animal Science (Equine Concentration) and a minor in Zoology on a pre-vet track to be an Equine Veterinarian. Avery joined the Cozy Fields Farm Team as a Professional Rider in the fall of 2020. Since then she has been an integral member of the team not only riding but teaching lessons, organizing events, assistant with the care and maintenance of each horse, scheduling horse shows, and getting our riders & horses prepped start to finish for the non-horse show &horse show goals

Riders

Olivia and her mom, Janice, joined our team with the lease of Avery Sutton’s horse “Cas Canto” in March of 2022. Olivia and Janice brought with them their own knowledge of horsemanship and care from their horse “Gabby” as well as years of showing at local and A-rated shows all around NE. Olivia and Canto have been finding their groove in the 2’6 jumpers, improving each lesson and each show. Olivia’s attention to detail and compassionate understanding of horses can be seen through her riding and on the ground. Olivia is the last one to leave at the end of the long horse show day and the first one to crack a joke (sometimes without even knowing it) when someone else is having a hard day. Janice, your uplifting mom-support to everyone is something we don’t want to be without! Thank you for all the horse holding and pictures/videos that you take.

Drinda and Teagan are the owners of “Maddy’s Parade”. Purchasing her sight-unseen in 2014, they came to Heather in 2017 to continue working on Maddy’s education. Drinda & Teagan enjoy keeping Maddy in partial training to grow her education and show record while doing pleasure riding of their own in lessons and out on the trails. Outside of the barn, they own 2 retired horses at home that they love and care for each day. Teagan also enjoys kart racing in Stafford, CT!
